I wasn’t going to write another post this weekend but on Saturday I went to Westonbirt Arboretum with some members of the social media group AllHorts. It really is a vintage year for autumn leaf colour – so if you get the chance to go to an arboretum within the next week or so for heaven’s sake GO! The weather on Saturday was miserable, drizzly and dingy, and I still don’t know how to compensate for this with my camera, so the pictures are not as crisp as they would have been on a sunny day but if you flick through they should give you the general idea.
I’ve named as many as I can – but it wasn’t possible to check labels for every shot without completely ignoring my companions! It was great fun wandering around in a gang, chatting about life, trees, work and horticulture in general. You’d think from these photos that there were hardly any other people there but there must have been THOUSANDS in spite of the weather.
This is the first time I’ve used the gallery function on this blog format, so let me know what you think. Just click on an image in the “Gallery” page to see them one at a time in a slide show.
Despite the weather you have some beautiful photos there. Westonbirt is a wonderful aboretum.

Thanks Jo, yes it’s a great collection, I hadn’t been for years and years so had forgotten what a big place it is too. That list must be getting quite long!
